The access problem

Infrastructure failures often begin below the visible surface.

Roads, bridges, tunnels, dams and embankments depend on ground conditions that are difficult to inspect and disruptive to replace. Weak subgrade, uncontrolled water and connected fractures can repeatedly damage the structure above.

Biomineralization gives engineers another way to treat those conditions: deliver low-viscosity fluids into the soil, aggregate or fracture network and form structural mineral where the problem exists.
