The challenge

Two cement squeezes had not restored integrity.

An operator contracted BioSqueeze to restore mechanical integrity on a disposal well in the San Juan Basin. Diagnostics isolated leakage to a 32-foot interval on the 4½-inch production casing at approximately 7,800 feet.

Two conventional cement squeezes had been attempted with low confidence in placement and no meaningful improvement in pressure-falloff performance.

The treatment

Rig-assisted preparation. Rigless remediation.

Isolate

The existing bridge plug and cement were used to isolate the target below the leaking interval.

Position

A packer was set at 7,774 feet and a capillary string placed through it to 7,825 feet.

Release the rig

The workover unit moved to another well before BioSqueeze began the treatment.

Seal progressively

Injection pressure was raised in steps, sealing accessible pathways at each pressure level before moving higher.

The result

Mechanical integrity restored.

Leaks sealed. Internal diameter preserved. Injection resumed.
